Joe Ross

Joe Austin Ross, age 88 of Woodlawn, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015 at his residence.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2015 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Burkhart officiating. Burial will follow at Needmore Church of Christ Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday.
Joe was born on March 6, 1927 in Montgomery County, the son of the late John Davis Ross and Della Futtrell Ross. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Diana L. Jones; grandson, Dustin Jones; step-mother, Thelma Evans Ross; brother, Edgar Davis Ross.
Joe was a member of Needmore Church of Christ. He worked for Frosty Morn as a truck driver for 24 years and later worked for Bi County Solid Waste for 16 years.
He leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Mary Ellen Reed Ross; son, Mitchell (Shelia) Ross; brother, Charles Edward (Connie) Ross; sisters, Mildred Dabney Ross and Mary Amanda King; grandson, Stanley M. (Brittany) Ross; son-in-law, Don Jones.
Pallbearers will be Stanley Ross, Chuck Ross, Jerry Halliday, Don Jones, Ronald Burkhart, Robert Boone, Britt Young, Donnie Kirkland, and Randy Reed.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Schaaf, Raymond Burkhart, J.D. Burkhart, Martin Halliday, Kenneth Burkhart, Ronnie Boyd, and Phillip Hinton.
The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen White and staff, St. Thomas Heart and Dr. Christopher McClure and staff, Tennessee Oncology and Dr. Rohit Patel and staff, and Tennessee Quality Home Health and Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Needmore Church of Christ, American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.
