Joe Riggins

Joe Sam Riggins, 83, Palmyra, died Friday, June 4, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Ted Denny and Rev. Harold Whitmer officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the church at the church.
McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born June 22, 1926 in Montgomery County, TN and was preceded in death by his parents, Laurence and Marine Williams Riggins; and his wife, Freely Riggins. Mr. Riggins was a U.S. Army Veteran, a carpenter and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include his sons, Joe Riggins, Calvin Riggins and John H. (Teresa) Riggins; daughter, Patricia A. Rye; brothers, Wendell L. Riggins, Bobby E. Riggins; sisters, Betty E. Rushing, Mendyoun Mugridge, Juanita Evilsizor, Helen Carrcas, twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
