Joe Kenneth Massey, 73, Clarksville, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Little West Fork Baptist Church with Dr. Kim Allen officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Saturday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Sunday at the church. A Graveside will be held 12 noon Monday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville, with full military honors. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Massey was born July 30, 1936 in Smithville, TN and was preceded in death by his parents, Henry L. Massey Sr. and Sarah Melvina Hibdon Massey; son, William "Bill" A. Massey; sisters, Sarah Ann Massey, Ruby Hibdon Buhler; brothers, William C. Massey, John B. Massey, George Massey and Charles E. Massey. He was retired from the U.S. Army and served in VietNam and later retired from the Zinc Plant. Survivors include his wife, Jean Richardson Massey, Clarksville; sons, Steve (Susan) Massey, Knoxville, Kenneth D. (Brenda) Massey, Kenya-Africa; daughter, Pam (David) LaVigne, Clarksville; daughter-in-law, Kay Kemp Massey, Allensville, KY; brothers, Henry L. Massey Jr., San Antonio, TX, Leonard Massey, Taccoa, GA; sisters, Edna Taylor, Smithville, TN, Ruth Rogers, Lebanon, TN; grandchildren, Aubrey DeBow, Damean Massey, Alan Wilkin, Matthew LaVigne, David A. LaVigne, Danielle Hayes, Melissa Massey, Melanie Powell, Erin Massey, Kelly LaVigne, Rachel Massey, Jessica Massey; and great-grandson, Cameron Wilkin. Military will serve as pallbearers.
