Joe Ed Armstrong, age 76 of Palmyra, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 12, 2023.
A celebration of his life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel. Burial will be at Palmyra United Methodist Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Joe Ed was born June 28, 1946 in Fayetteville, TN son of the late, Ira and Martha Gray Armstrong. Joe was a historian, a veteran of the US Army, and a brother of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Joe was a member of the Ohio Valley Military Society, North Middle Tennessee Football Officials Association, Gamma Phi Eplison National Honor Society, Phi Alpha Theta History National Honor Society, Society in History, First Cavalry Division Association, a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Nashville, TN and Tennessee Military Collectors Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Ann Armstrong.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughters, Susie Murphy (Bryan),and Kendra Milliken (Steven); grandchildren, Lora Murphy and Victoria Milliken; sister, Marta VanDerGeest (Jake) and a host of family and friends.
