Joan Coleman Hair, age 91 of Clarksville, TN, went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, January 13, 2024.
Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at McReynolds-Nave and Larson Chapel with Freddy T. Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
Joan was born February 29, 1932, making her only 22 years old since she had a leap year birthday. She was the daughter of the late Howard and Jessie Mae Coleman. Joan was a member of St. Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, aunt, and friend. Following her 19 ½ years working for National Life Insurance Co., she and her husband moved to Germany. Once back in Clarksville, She became the secretary for Spring Creek Baptist Church and retired after 30 years.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her sister, Bobbie Clark; brothers, J.T. Coleman, and Howard H. Coleman and Larry Coleman.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 65 years, William Hair; brother, Dr. G. Byrns Coleman; her niece/caregiver who she viewed as a daughter Angie Henson and her husband Dee; loving sister-in-laws; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
The Hair Family would like to extend a thank you to the precious CNA’s and nurses through Tennova Hospice that cared for her like family; Hope for coming into our lives, caring for her and then continuing when it was no longer your job. She loved her Little Hope. Nicky and Essence, for loving her beyond the job, you were there till the very end. Your exceptional care and concern and such love you gave her, we will forever be grateful.
The family requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to one of the following that was close to her heart; The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research in memory of her baby brother, Larry W. Coleman or Chapel Hill Christian Academy to continue furthering Christian education and pour into our children spiritually and academically. In memory of Joan Hair. She loved Chapel Hill and the impact it has made on Emily and Sadie and will make on Harper.
Pallbearers will be Wade Smith, Dee Henson, Garrett Lindsey, and Terry Clark.
