Joan Baker Henry, age 78 of Adams, went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Gateway Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. John Laida officiating. Burial will follow in Sango Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Joan was born September 1, 1934 in Gibson Co., TN, daughter of Clyde and Mary King Baker. Along with her husband, she owned and operated B&H Furniture Store. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dover where she taught pre-school and was known as "Church Nana" to the grandchildren. She was formerly a member of the Lib Laida Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, Clarksville.
Joan is survived by her loving family which includes her husband, Joe Henry; her children, Thomas Henry and his wife, Laura and Susan Young and her husband, Randy all of Clarksville; brother Jerry Baker of Milan, TN, and sister, Carolyn Wyatt of Birmingham, AL. She was the proud grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of three.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael Young, Matthew Young, and Chase Cox along with other family friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Dover.
