Jimmy Balentine, age 69 of Vanleer, TN, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2021 at St. Thomas West in Nashville, TN.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 5, 2021 at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Baggett officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with Masonic funeral rites at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of funeral service Friday morning.
Jimmy entered this life on June 11, 1952, son to the late Clarence Ellis and Ollie Berry Balentine. Jimmy was a faithful member of Masonic Charity Lodge #370, a member of Cumberland City United Methodist Church, an avid outdoorsman and he was a longtime volunteer of the Cumberland City Fire department. He also served the Cumberland City community as an alderman and vice mayor for many years. He was am honorary member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace workers Local Lodge 2356. He started his career spanning nearly 41 years from June 1, 1975 and retired from the Local on March 31, 2016. He worked at TVA Cumberland as a Machinist Forman of the IK shop for several years before retiring.
Survivors include his loving wife of 21 years, Carolyn Balentine; children, Mandy Balentine Frankel (Matthew) and Joshua Balentine; sisters, Margaret Bryant, Sue Bogus, Mary O’Bryant Robinson. Jimmy also leaves behind his precious grandchildren, Lucas Frankel, Olivia Frankel, Abbigial Balentine, Ashton Balentine and Angela Clinton.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Neal Finch, Dwight Vaughn, Tommy Conger, Hugh Pate, Barry Murphy, and Steve Montgomery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Masonic Charity Lodge #370 of Cumberland City.
