Jerry Taylor

Jerry Lee `Smooth` Taylor, 64, Clarksville, died Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at Spring Meadows Health Care Center. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Skip Armistead officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Taylor was born April 16, 1946 in Montgomery County and was preceded in death by his parents, Charles V. and Nora Jean Ingram Taylor. He was a Auto Service Technician, a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran and a member of VFW Post 4895, and a member of Hilldale United Methodist Church. Survivors include his former wife and mother of his daughter, Shirley Sullivan Taylor, Clarksville; daughter, Tina Michelle Taylor, Clarksville; brother, Michael Taylor, Clarksville; grandchildren, Haley and Morgan Carr; and nieces, Charlsie Wisdom and Jamie Taylor. Pallbearers will be James Wilkinson, Louie Wilkinson, Vernie Hill, Roger Duprey, Jody Dumpprope, Mike Heflin. Honorary pallbearers will be members of VFW post 4895.
