Jerrold Akin

Jerrold Akin, age 65, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024 with his family at his side.

Celebration of Life will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Ferrell officiating. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Jerrold entered this life on October 19, 1958, in Montgomery County, TN. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and was a master carpenter known for his exceptional skills and dedication to his craft. When he wasn’t working, Jerrold enjoyed car racing, fishing, drinking coffee and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Walter Lee Akin, and his nephew, Eric Pennington.

Jerrold is survived by his loving wife, Rita Underwood Akin; his mother, Patricia Brockert Akin; children, Shaun (Summer) Akin, Andrew Akin, Joseph Wilbanks and Sarah Wilbanks; siblings Jeff Akin, Cheryl (Greg) Pennington, and Regina Cheek, grandchildren, Ayden, Nevaeh, Jaylen, Garrett, and Easton. Jerrold also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
