Jean H. Wood died Thursday, October 18, 2018, in her residence at Fieldstone Place in Clarksville. She was 92.
She was born in 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, and had been a resident of Clarksville since 2015.
Mrs. Wood was a homemaker who graduated high school in Chicago and pursued studies at the University of Chicago. She was a gifted artist who specialized in water colors depicting natural wildlife, particularly birds. She was also a quilter of distinction whose work was recognized in national publications.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Harry D. Wood. She is survived by her two daughters Pamela Burns of Chesapeake Beach, MD, and Leslie Wood of St. Louis, MO, and her son, Dr. Jeffrey Wood, professor of music at Austin Peay State University; three grandchildren, Matthew Wood of San Mateo, CA, Jennifer Frenzel of Chesapeake Beach, MD, and Gillian Carroll of Huntingtown, MD, and two great-grandchildren, Patrick Frenzel and Finley Carroll.
