Eugenia (Jean) Gilbert, age 87, of Clarksville, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Tennova Healthcare.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Harriett Bryan officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, and again from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 11 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home.
Eugenia entered into this life on June 11, 1934, in Columbus, GA, to the late Mr. and Mrs. T.E. Meadows. Jean served as a dedicated Army wife for over twenty-five years alongside her husband. She worked on many charitable causes geared toward military families and cared for the families of the soldiers under her husband’s command. Her time in Clarksville was focused on service in numerous organizations to include: The Tennessee Arts Commission, The APSU Candlelight Ball and The Custom’s House Museum Guild and “Flying High.” Eugenia was a member of Madison Street United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her son, Wendell Gilbert III.
Survivors include her loving husband, BG (Ret.) Wendell Gilbert; daughter, Ann Marie Gilbert Crozier (Ted); grandchildren, Caroline Crozier and Martin Crozier; sisters, Martha Ann Coffin and Shirley Bickerstaff.
Pallbearers will be Ted A. Crozier, Jr., Martin A. Crozier, Celik J. Sismanturk, James H. Allen, Mark A. Rassas, Mark A. Rassas, Jr.
