J.C. Lane, 84, Cumberland City, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Patient's Choice Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the chapel of Nave Funeral Home, Erin, with the Revs. Paul Moody and Truitt Cockrell, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Indian Mound. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home.
J.C. was born October 27, 1927 in Stewart County, Tennessee, son of Albert and Myrtle Martin Lane. J.C. was retired from Granite City Steel and a member of Erin Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Ryman Lane and his sisters, Estelle Dortch and Helen Kirk.
Survivors include his wife, Everee McGovern Lane of Cumberland City; brothers, Bill Lane, Don Lane, and Wayne Lane, all of Illinois; sister Evelyn Mohorn of Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Neal Mathis, Geary Durham, Tracy Downs, Archie Earhart, Scott Davis, G.E. Clark, Bailey Gafford, Johnnie Adams, Tommy Mathis, and Rick Mathis.
Memorial contributions are preferred to the Bethesda Mission, 405 W Front Street, Erin, TN 37061 or to the American Cancer Society.
