Janie Nicholson, 57 of Cunningham, went home to her Heavenly Father Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Yellow Creek Baptist Church with Brother Phillip Chambers officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Cemetery with Dr. Ted Denny officiating.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and from 12 noon until the hour of service on Saturday at Yellow Creek Baptist Church.
Janie was born March 19, 1958 in Montgomery County, the daughter of the late J.M. Martin and Helen Bryant Martin. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by brother, David Wayne Martin and sister, Sue Lannom. She was a 1976 graduate of Montgomery Central High School and was a deputy trustee at the Montgomery County Trustee’s Office. She was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church where she was a part of the Praise team. Janie dedicated her life to sharing the Gospel through song and music.
She is survived by her husband, David Nicholson; son, Michael Wayne Nicholson; step son, Bobby Nicholson; mother, Helen Bryant Martin; niece, Angela (Jerry Lee) Martin; nephew, David (Mary Ellen) Lannom; brother-in-law, Kenny Lannom; great nieces and nephews, Sara Lannom, Austin Martin, Joshua Lannom, Jonah Lannom, and Jenna Martin.
Pallbearers will be David Lannom, Jerry Martin, Austin Martin, Joshua Lannom, Jonah Lannom, Mike Ratliff, Marcus Reese, and Nick Greene.
