Janie Heflin Black, age 89 of Clarksville, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2014.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 6, 2014 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Dr. William Luffman officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday at the funeral home.
Janie was born on February 3, 1925 in Montgomery County, one of the first sets of quadruplets born in the state of Tennessee to George Heflin and Mamie Walls Heflin. She was a Baptist and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Joe Monroe Black; granddaughter, Billy Jane (Sissy) Black; grandson, Daniel Boyd Appleton; brothers, Eugene, Wesley, and George Heflin; sisters, Mamie Heflin, Clara Cottell, and Louise Ott.
Janie is survived by her sons, Billy Joe (Tandy) Black, Charles William Black, Danny Russell (Barbara) Black, Edward Eugene (Laura) Black; daughter, Mary Louise(Pat) Rose; grandsons, Glendon M. (Amie) Black and Joseph Edward (Vicky) Black; granddaughters, Sheryl Black (John) Morgan, Glynnis Appleton (Tim) Warren, Michelle Rose Groves, Amanda Rose, and Kathy (Gene) Rose; great-grandsons, Jerad Morgan, Felix Warren, and Clayton Rose; great-granddaughters, Nicole Lynch, Kara Black, Candace Black, Raeanne Black, Ali Groves, Shelby Gibson, McKenzie Rose, and Karyna Black; great-great grandsons, Xavier Bell and Xavion Bell; caregiver, Gail Castile.
Pallbearers will be Glendon Black, Ed Black, John Morgan, Glen Appleton Jr., Mike Chester, and Mark Zellers.
