Janie Benton

Janet Elaine Benton, 61, Clarksville, died Friday, September 5, 2008, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Bobby Kail officiating. Burial will be in Black Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Sunday at the funeral home.
McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born February 1, 1947 at Ft. Campbell, KY and was the daughter of the late James Thomas Black and Irene Elizabeth Hodges Black. Mrs. Benton was a homemaker and a member of Crossland Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Robert F. Benton, Jr., Clarksville; sons, Doug Mahon, Murfreesboro, Robert Shane Benton, Nashville; brothers, twin, James Edward Black, Atlanta, GA, Charles Wayne Black, Donnie Black and Dorris Black, all of Clarksville; sisters, Linda Morrow, Clarksville, Sherrie Smith, Hopkinsville, Jerrie Page, Mayfield, KY; grandchildren, James Douglas Mahon, Elizabeth Danielle Mahon, Amber Lee Startley; great-grandchildren, Hunter Lee Odeneal, James Robert Odeneal, Danilynn Hope Odeneal, Jonathan Douglas Mahon, Caleb Ethan Fults, Mylee Marie Neely. Pallbearers will be Wayne Black, James Black, Dorris Black, Donnie Black, Allan Page, Clay Smith, James Mahon and Kenny Barbour.
