Janice Stone

June 2, 1947 — December 10, 2011

Janice June Batson Stone, beloved wife of Dr. Ralph Stone, took her precious Lord’s hand and joined Him in the gardens of heaven on December 10, 2011.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10 a.m.Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Blooming Grove Baptist Church, Woodlawn, TN with the Revs. Jerry Shelton, Author Barber and Ferrel Duffel officiating. Burial will be in the church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. She was born June 2, 1947 in Stone County, MO to William Franklin and Sylvia Isabel Batson. She married her childhood sweetheart Ralph on November 22, 1966, at First Baptist Church, in Carthage, MO.
She was a dedicated Christian, beloved wife, and loving mother. She spent her adult life ministering alongside her husband twenty years at military bases around the world and at the following churches for twenty eight years:

First Baptist Church in Onawa, IA
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Cherry Valley, AR
Myron Baptist Church in Ash Flat, AR
Trinity Baptist Church in Arkansas City, KS
First Baptist Church in Wilson, AR
First Baptist Church in Hughes, AR
She was a faithful member of Hughes First Baptist Church, where she sang in the church choir and served as assistant librarian. She also served her community by working in the Hughes Christian Outreach Food Bank.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Ralph W. Stone of Hughes, AR. Her two children and their spouses, Ralph W. and Dottie Stone of Cumberland City, TN and Katrina L. and Charles Capella, Jr. of Horseshoe Bend, AR. Her beloved niece and nephew Rhonda L. and Mark Benz of Phnom Penh, Cambodia whom she thought of as a daughter. Her sister and brothers; Jane and Paul Angelo of Granby, MO. Ronald Batson of Granby, MO, Donald Batson of Carthage, MO, and Robert and Billie Batson of Carthage, MO. She is also survived by four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, over twenty orphan children of Bykota House who she loved as a grandmother, countless friends and extended family. Her smile and motherly love will be missed by all who had the privilege to be blessed with her in their life. She fought the good fight, kept the faith, and has received her crown of righteousness.
