James Mayo Violette, Jr., 83, died peacefully at his home in Clarksville, Tennessee Friday night. February 2, 2024.
He was born in Todd County, Kentucky, on June 10, 1940, a son of Clyo and James Mayo Violette Sr.
Mayo enjoyed cars, fishing, hunting, long vacations, and cooking on his grills, but his daughters and grandchildren were the pride of his life.
Mayo retired in 2012 after over four decades in the manufacturing, installing, and maintaining of heating and air conditioning systems.
In addition to his parents, Mayo is predeceased by his daughter, Sherry Lee Violette Sager in 2018, two half-brothers, Billy Ray Violette, Billy Reno Boley, and his son-in-law, James Eric Lannom.
Surviving are Mayo’s wife of over 65 years, Linda Wyatt Violette; daughter, Pamela Lannom Tomes (Doug); and son-in-law, Vince Sager; grandson, James Jeremy Lannom (Mychele); granddaughter, Jamie Leigh Sager Haupt (Greg); granddaughter, Brittyne Lynn Sager Hearn (John); grandson, Cody Austin Lannom (Megan); granddaughter, Monica Renee Sager; granddaughter, Mariel Beth Tomes; and brother Gary Violette (Jo). Also surviving are 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, one great-great grandson, 8 nieces, and 6 nephews.
Celebration of Life will 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Kentucky.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2024, until the hour of service at the funeral home
