James Underwood

James Felix Underwood, 78, Clarksville, died Sunday, January 18, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel. Burial will be in McWhorter Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born August 6, 1930 in Montgomery County, son of the late Dossie and Lou Akins Underwood. Mr. Underwood was retired from the Clarksville Fire Department, served in the Marines, and was a Baptist. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Underwood of Clarksville; sister Ghoram Lee of Clarksville; daughters Elizabeth (Bruce) Self, Angel (Joey) Baggett, and Ricki (Anthony) Weatherford, all of Clarksville; son Michael Treat of Texas; grandchildren Chris (Danielle) Maille, Jessica Treat, Shelly Baggett, Jasmine Baggett, Aaron Weatherford, Amber Treat, Dustin Kelley, and Tyler Self; great-grandchild Autumn Maille; and sister & brother-in-law Nancy and Jim Grubb. Pallbearers will be Chris Maille, Aaron Weatherford, Justin Grubb, Dustin Kelley, Joey Baggett, Anthony Weatherford, Bruce Self, and Eric Willyerd. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Clarksville Fire Department.
