James Slayton

James Robert Slayton, 85, Clarksville, died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. The remains are to be cremated. He was born February 27, 1925 in Benton, IL and was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Beatrice Deeds Slayton. Mr. Slayton was a retired contruction foreman who enjoyed fishing, golfing, cards and bingo. Survivors include his sons, Robert Allen Slayton, Thomas Eugene Slayton; daughters, Carolyn June Kirby, Mary Beatrice Stokes, and Janet Elaine Bumpus.
