James (Slab) Mathis

James Carlton (Slab) Mathis, age 74 of Erin, TN, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015 at Houston County Community Hospital. Slab was born January 18, 1941 in Houston County, TN, son of Albert Mathis and Evelyn Reynolds Mathis.
Slab was preceded in death by his father Albert Mathis.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Nave Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry Mathis officiating. The Mathis family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, and from 10 :00 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday afternoon. Burial will follow in Lockhart Cemetery.
Survivors include his mother Evelyn Mathis; wife, Sharron Paul Mathis; son, Charles Mathis; daughters, Alisha Pageant, Samantha Walker, Melissa Proctor; sister, Patsy Mullins; seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
