Blakes's best day of his life was August 7, 2010 as he went to be with Jesus after a courageous battle with cancer. A celebration of life service will be held at 10am Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Clarksville, Faith Building with Rev's Cal Hampton, Roger Freeman, Jimmy Terry, and Jody Kilburn officiating. Burial will be in First Baptist Church of Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4pm till 8pm Monday at the funeral home and from 9am till the hour of service Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Clarksville.
McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Blake was born March 17, 1961 at Misawa Air Force Base,Japan, the son of James(Bro. Shep)Shepherd, and Blanche Varner Shepherd. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Clarksville, a graduate of Clarksville High School, he attened Austin Peay State Universty , and was Self- employed as a Masonary Contracter. Blake was a person of very strong faith and loved his Lord. He leaves to cherish his memories his parents; brother David Shepherd; aunt Eleanor(Jim) Williams of Clarksville, TN; uncle Jerry(Bettie Sue) Varner of Achilles, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Zoot Parker, Ray Stone, Jerry Varner, Jimmy Williams, Gary Norton, and J.D. Justice, James Pelham and Cleve Turner.
