James A. Rye “Jar”, 82, of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2019 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Stafford officiating. Burial will follow at First Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2019 with a Masonic service following at 7 p.m. at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and again on Friday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
James entered this life on June 2, 1937 in Palmyra, TN son of the late Levi Jackson Rye, Sr. and Fannie Baggett Rye. He was a member of First Canaan Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher, chairman of Deacons, and secretary treasure for thirty years. Jar was also a member of Palmyra Masonic Lodge #747. He was a Veteran of The United States Army and was a retired foreman from Trane Company.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Claudean Harrison Rye; sons, Anthony (Kim) Rye, Aaron (Shae) Rye and Allen (Michele) Rye; grandchildren, Brittany (Justin) Rasco, Abrielle, Amanda, Kayla (Kevin) Lawrence, Jessie, Jordan, and Joshua; great-grandchildren; Abby, Audrye, Hunter, Karson, Slayden, and Lynkin; sister, Geneva (Robert) Walker.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Davis, Ricky Johnson, Kris Phillips, Anthony Glenn, Kent Ellis, and Gus Crockett.
