James Harold Robinson, age 74, Clarksville, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, June 18, 2017 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Cal Hampton and Dr. Felts Dent officiating. Burial with Navy Honors will follow in Sango Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 p.m. until the hour of service Sunday at the funeral home.
James was born November 11, 1942 in Scott County, VA to the late James and Nannie Belle Cook Robinson. He was retired from a 34 year career with the U.S. Postal Service. He was also a Manager of Eastland Green Golf Course. James was also a U.S. Navy Veteran who served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a member of the church family at First Baptist Church of Clarksville where he was a Sunday School Teacher. Additionally, he dedicated much of his free time as a Little League Baseball and golf Coach. He was a member of the NRA and especially enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Ellen Tribbett and Ruth Lewis. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Phyllis Boone Robinson; sons, James Edward Robinson, Phillip Vernon (Christy) Robinson; brothers, Joe Robinson (Dorothy) and George Robinson (Imogene); sisters, Virginia Boyd, Bonnie Evans (JB), Alice Riggs (JT), and Jean Gunter; grandchildren, Tanner Glen Robinson, Trace James Robinson, Tori Christine Robinson and Brittany Danielle Robinson.
Pallbearers are Denzil Biter, Larry Farley, Dwight McWhorter, Murray Nicholson, Pete Reed, Tanner Robinson, Trace Robinson, and Michael Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are Glen Cornett, Glen Moore, Phillip Pickett, and Brady White.
