James Robert (Bob) McCurdy

James Robert (Bob) McCurdy, 85 of Cumberland Furnace, TN, went to be with the Lord Friday, September 27, 2013 at Gateway Medical Center.
A celebration of his life will be at 3 p.m. Monday September 30, 2013 at McReynolds- Nave & Larson Chapel with Revs. Melvin E. Brooks, Robert Niles, and David Mackens officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service Monday.
Robert was born September 23, 1928 in Montgomery County son of the late J. G. and Cleo Plummer McCurdy. He was a member of the Mt. Zion U.M.C. and the Montgomery County Farm Bureau. He loved and cherished his wife of 63 years, his kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and caring for his orchard. He retired after 42 years as a salesmen for Riley Hardware and he was a farmer. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, son, Andy McCurdy; grandson, Matt McCurdy; sisters, Katherine Gibbs and Margaret Smith.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Mary Nola Batson McCurdy; daughters, Betsy (the late Steve) Wall, Patty (Bill) Lamirande; grandchildren, Dana (Mike) Harbin, Cathy (Mark) Riggins, Bryan (Kathryn) Wall, and Brandon (Megan) McCurdy; brother, Billy (Barbara) McCurdy; sisters, Joyce (Frank) Mathews, Peggy (Billy) Groves, Jean (Bob) Thomas. Honorary Pallbearers will be his great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mark Riggins, Mike Harbin, Bryan Wall, Brandon McCurdy, Mike Smith, and Ricky Castleberry.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund c/o Barbara McCurdy 6188 Hodge Rd. Cumberland Furnace, TN 37051
