James Robert Ritenour

James Robert Ritenour, age 77, of Clarksville, TN passed away on February 12, 2024. He was born on August 4, 1946, in Williamsport, Indiana to the late , Robert and Alberta Sturgeon Ritenour. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was  preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Johnston Ritenour, and his sister Nancy Johnston. 

James leaves behind a legacy that extends beyond his professional career. He was a dedicated family man who adored his children and grandchildren deeply. He is survived by his son Troy Ritenour and wife Wanda; his daughters Misty Reece and husband Casey, and Brenda Taylor- Gould and husband Mikel. James also leaves behind fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.

James Robert Ritenour will be remembered for his dedication to his work as a skilled barber, offering countless hair transformations throughout his esteemed career. With expertise that spanned over five decades, he made sure that each customer left the barbershop with confidence and style. 

Aside from his profession as a barber, James also contributed to the maintenance department at Purdue University, where he retired from. His hard work ensured that the campus remained beautiful and functional for students, staff, and visitors.

Outside of work, James found solace in his faith as an active member of the Assembly of God. He drew strength from the community's support and weaved it into every aspect of his life.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and valued member of the community.

A Celebration of James Ritenour’s life will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2024 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Chad Rowland officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Burial and graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Mound Cemetery in Pine Village, Indiana.
