James Major

James Lester Major III, age 86 of Clarksville, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Steve Kirby officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home.
James was born on February 4, 1930 in Montgomery County, the son of the late James L. Major II and Anne Small Major. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Major and son, Mark Edwin Major. He was a member of Hilldale Church of Christ and a Korean War Army Veteran. He was a graduate of Clarksville High School and attended Austin Peay State University.
James is survived by his sons, Michael A. (Michele) Major and James (Gail) Major IV; grandson, Michael (Ashley) Major, Jr.; 4 great-grandchildren.
