James Lee Lovelady, age 69 of Erin, TN, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville, TN.
A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Chuck Steele and Bro. Brian Miller officiating. Burial will follow in McMillan Cemetery.
The Lovelady family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service Friday afternoon at the funeral home.
James entered this life on October 18, 1951 in Houston County, TN, son to the late JD and Ethel Coffell Lovelady. James worked as a machinist at Southern Gage for 44 years before he retired.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his late brother, Charles Lovelady.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Vera Lovelady; children, Mark Carpenter, Teresa (Stan) Cook, Crystal (Dwayne) Dew; and sister, Mary Faye Perrigo. James also leaves behind his precious grandchildren, Cassie Dew Futrell, Chance Dew, Kyle Cook, Kayla Cook James, Chris Carpenter, Savannah Livingston; and five great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chance Dew, Kyle Cook, Chris Carpenter, Dwayne Perrigo, Mike Perrigo and David “Griz” Adams. All of his “Softball Ladies” he coached for several years will serve as honorary pallbearers.
