James Kurtz

James “Jimmy” “Jim” Edward Kurtz age 73 of Erin, TN, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023 at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023 at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Steven Winegardner and Bro. Scott Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
The Kurtz family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday afternoon.
James entered this life on March 5, 1949 in St. Louis, MO, son to the late Russell and Louise Hildebrant. James proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. James was a faithful member of First Assembly of God and spent his time hunting, fishing, working on cars, and drinking coffee with his friends. However, his true passion in life was his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his grandson, R.J. Nagel; siblings, Sandy Ackerman, Mark Hildebrant, and Beverly Morris.
Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Bonnie Jean Kurtz; children, Christopher (Christine) Kurtz, Jeremy (Amanda) Kurtz, Jason (Lanie) Kurtz, Amy Dasher, Sara-Jean (Robert) Nagel; grandchildren that he raised, Kyleigh and Jordan Dasher; siblings, Virginia “Deedee” Antonelli, Dale, Glen, and Dean Hildebrant. James also leaves behind his precious grandchildren, Patrick, Jake, Jason, Logan, Jamison, Jeremiah, Jason Jr, Kelsey, McKenzie, Kinsley, Anna, and Roxy.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
