Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Maria Johnson; children, Shirley Johnson, James Allen Johnson, Jr., and Martha (James) Stevens; brother, Bill Johnson, and grandchildren, James Allen Johnson III, Christian Johnson, Emily Johnson, Alyssa Johnson, Alexus Johnson, Daniel J. Thurlow, and Maria Isbella Thurlow.
