James Howard Capps

James “Howard” Capps, age 74, went to be with the lord on Saturday, May 1, 2021.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday May 8, 2021, at 1 p.m. at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Ross & Rev. Phillip Chambers officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Howard entered into this life on October 23, 1946, son of the late Will David and Artie Bishop Capps in Dickson County, TN. Howard worked in the heating/ air conditioning and construction industry for many years. He enjoyed working with his hands to create or fix anything. He was also the proud owner/operator of Marion Market for eighteen years. In his retirement, he raised cattle and built homes for his children. Howard was a loving husband and father who enjoyed being outdoors, especially when he was hunting or fishing.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Capps, Martha Murphy, Nancy Bowker, and William “Sonny” Capps.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-five years, Cheryl Kay Ferrell Capps; son, Jason (Jennifer) Capps; daughter, Julie Capps (Tabitha and Oaklynn Bryant); sisters, Marie Capps and Gracie Sylvis; and many nieces and nephews as well as many friends that were like family.
