James Herrell

James Thomas Herrell, age 80, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 12, 2013.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2013 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. David Mackens officiating. Burial will follow in the Slayden Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 12 noon until the hour of service Monday at the funeral home.
James entered this life on February 23, 1933 in Dickson County, son to the late William and Mattie Baggett Herrell. He loved hunting, fishing, working on cars, and telling fishing stories.
James was preceded by his special friend, Betty Faye Schmittou, and siblings Freeman Herrell, Edgar Herrell, Verlie Herrell, and Betty Jean Holt. James is survived by his sisters Louise Green, Eula Mixon, Mildred Cato, and Rebecca Green, and step sons Michael and Kevin Schmittou.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
