James Elbert Parker, age 81, formerly of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012 at his home in Denver, Colorado.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Roy Goodmiller officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home.
James was born November 8, 1930 in Montgomery County, TN, son of Ellis and Mamie Hall Parker. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Cathedral in Denver, CO and an educator at Arapahoe Community College, Littleton, CO.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his siblings, Bessie Hodges, Mildred Shelby, W.C. "Buddy" Parker, and Herbert Parker.
Survivors include his brother, R.V. (Bessie) Parker; nephews, Darrell Parker, David Parker, Bobby Parker, Donnie Hodges, Mike Shelby, Donnie Binkley, and Richard Binkley; his nieces, Barbara Bearden, Sandra Walker, Becky Gatlin, and Kathy Nicholson; and brother-in-law, Malcolm Shelby.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
