James David Williams

James David Williams, lovingly known as “Dave”, age 72, of Clarksville, TN went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

A Funeral Service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Larry Peters officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 p.m. until the hour of service at church.

Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Rosedale Cemetery in Pembroke, Ky.

Dave entered this life on June 17, 1951 in Columbia, TN to the late Ralph and Joyce Mooney Williams. He was a dedicated member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he served as the head usher, embodying a spirit of service and community. Dave's commitment to education led him to achieve his Bachelor's degree from Austin Peay State University, a testament to his thirst for knowledge and personal growth. Throughout his career, Dave made significant contributions to the community through his work with Montgomery County. Serving as the Property Assessor Deputy, he played a vital role in the implementation of The Agricultural, Forest, and Open Space Land Act of 1976, more commonly known as the Greenbelt Law. His efforts helped preserve the land of our community. After retiring from the county, Dave continued to make an impact through his work at Briggs Clothiers and McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. His kind spirit  and commitment to helping others shone through in all aspects of his life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Jan Griffey Williams; brothers, Dwight Williams, and his wife, Patty of Texas, Ralph Doug Williams, and his wife, Carol of Missouri; brother-in-law, John William Griffy, and several nieces and nephews.
