James Collins, Sr.

James Lurton Collins, Sr., 68, Clarksville, died Monday, May 31, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Smith Cemetery, Big Rock, TN. Visitation will be from 9 a.m.. until 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Collins was born in Stewart Co., TN, son of Jesse D. Collins and Mary Elizabeth Dowdy Collins. He was retired from the APSU Maintenance Department and was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife Irene Collins, son James L. Collins, Jr., daughter Elizabeth Ellinwood, brother Danny Collins, and sisters Patsy Knight, June Gilpin, Lucille Eiffert, and Ann Shaw.
