James Richard `Poppy` Clinard, 91, Clarksville, departed his earthly life, Monday, December 20, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Bro. Steve Kirby officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home. He was born October 27, 1919 in Bumpus Mill, TN, and was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Rogers Clinard Sr. and Florence Elvira Howard Clinard; wife, Eunice Eldee Dodd Clinard; son, Donnie Ray Clinard; twin brothers, Hugh and Hugal Clinard; brothers, Bill, Roy, Howard, Robert and Edward Clinard; sisters, Robbie Whetzel, Ann Davis and Ruth Adams; and one grandchild. Mr. Clinard was a U.S. Army Veteran, retired from B.F. Goodrich, and was a member of Hilldale Church of Christ. Survivors include his children, Sarah Elizabeth (Ernest) Arsement, Texas, James Harvey (Barbara) Clinard, Carolyn Faye (Freddie) Haywood, Rachel Lynne (Steve) Batie, of Clarksville; twelve grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren.
