James Bryant

James Edward Bryant, age 65 of Palm Bay, Florida passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson with Dr. Roger Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
James was born on April 25, 1949 in Stewart County, the son of Eldon W. Bryant and Thelma Austin Bryant. He is preceded in death by his father and his brother Carl Eskew Bryant.
He was previously an employee of the Leaf Chronicle, was a graduate of Austin Peay State University, and an accredited film maker. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps who served in the Vietnam War as an interpreter. James was a member of the MENSA IQ society, and the Intertel Society. He was a journalist, an avid chess and bridge player, and was an award-winning painter. He was a Baptist and Bible scholar.
Along with his mother, he is survived by his wife, Vickie Gates Bryant; son, Nicholas Adam Bryant; step-son, Loren Magnuson; step-daughter, Shawna Pinson; brother, Larry W. Bryant; sisters, Wanda B. Mills Burnett (Louis) and Peggy B. Jernigan (Jimmy); 3 step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation at 269 Hanover Street, Building 3 Hanover, MA 02339.
