James Edgar Baggett Sr, 89, Clarksville, went to be with his Lord, Thursday, October 13, 2011 at his residence. A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Lone Oak Baptist Church with Rev. David Mackens officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Sunday at the church.
Mr. Baggett was born June 23, 1922 in Montgomery County and was the son of the late John and Betty Elizabeth Davis Baggett.
He was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church, a U.S. Army WWII Veteran and a retired Civil Servant. He loved the outdoors, fishing, gardening, cutting wood, hunting, camping, reading and enjoyed his pets.
Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Betty Nall Baggett; sons, James E. (Kay) Baggett Jr, David (Sharon) Baggett, Paul Douglas (Cyndie) Baggett, Mark (Charlene) Baggett, John Timothy (Joann) Baggett, Joel (Teresa) Baggett; sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Sons will serve as pallbearers.
