James Alley

James Bartlett Alley, 85, Adams, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011 at his home. Memorial services to be held at Port Royal United Methodist Church at a later date with interment to follow in the church cemetery. James was born January 3, 1926 in Akron, Ohio, son of the late David W. and Jane Bartlett Alley. He was predeceased by his wife Ruth Anne Steffensen Alley, daughters Dodie Benson and Karen Tooby, and son-in-law Dennis Tooby. He was a member of Port Royal United Methodist Church, a retired teacher with the Akron, OH School System, and a lifelong member of the National Educator's Association. Survivors include his son Nevin Alley of Clarksville, daughter Nancy Alley of Columbus, Ohio, and granddaughters Katherine and Grace Benson, and brother-in-law Herb Steffensen. Memorial contributions may be made to Port Royal United Methodist Church, the National Parkinson Foundation, or the Clarksville-Montgomery Co. Humane Society.
