Jackie Dean McGovern, age 75, of Woodlawn, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Gateway Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Sugar Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Tim Ferrell and Damond Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Saturday at Sugar Creek Baptist Church.
Jackie was born March 12, 1937 in Indian Mound, son of Andrew Ewing and Elrena Mullins. He was a retired Lumber Jack and a faithful member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Henry and Joe McGovern, Nillie Henton, Patsy Glenn, and June Griffy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Wanda Carpenter McGovern, children, Bruce McGovern and wife Tammy, Rickie McGovern and wife Gena, Jackie Jr. Travis, Sylvia Dew and husband Mark, Donnie McGovern and wife Christi, eighteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren, brothers, Teddy McGovern of Clarksville and Billy McGovern of Indian Mound, and sister, Nancy Bogard of Indiana.
Pallbearers will be Brandon and Shane Cheek, Brian Dew, Scotty and Kody McGovern, Monty Nichelson, and James Sink.
