Imogene Browning Purviance, age 95, of Southside, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. James Black officiating. Burial will follow in the Southside Cemetery.
Imogene's family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2021, and again 12 p.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Imogene entered into this life on January 2, 1926, in Montgomery County, TN to Claude and Lucille Bowers Potts. She worked for Boot-Sters Company for several years. Afterward, she and her husband owned and operated Pine Tree Crafts on Highway 48 where they made custom furniture and crafts. Imogene was a member of Southside Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Ray Purviance; father of her children, Nondon Browning; daughter, Elaine Ashby; great-grandson, Dusty Greenup; sisters, Joy Togia and Irene Ladd; brother-in-law, Sam DiFiore.
Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia Travis (Billy) and Corene Jones; stepchildren, Steven Purviance and Brenda Massey; brother-in-law, Fuatia Togia; grandchildren, Cameron (Kim) Jones, Melody (Allen) Hutchison, Marlo (Lester) Brame, Darrin (Bobbie) Greenup, Mia Johnson; six great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael DiFiore, Joe DiFiore, Neal Ladd, Keith Harris, Ronnie Travis, Jed White, Waylon Greenup.
