Cora Imogene Greene, 84, Cumberland Furnace, died Sunday, June 14, 2009, at her home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with the Revs. Ken Andrews, Bob Mitchell, and David Mackens officiating. Burial will be in Greene Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born November 6, 1924 in Houston County, TN, daughter of the late David and Sara Lindsey Stavely. She was also preceded in death by sons Melvin Daniel Greene and Erwin Vincent Greene. Mrs. Greene was a member of Gray's Chapel Church of the Nazarene and was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband of nearly 65 years, Erwin (Pete) Greene of Cumberland Furnace; son Edward S. Greene of Cumberland Furnace; daughters Reba (Daniel) Burke of Clarksville, Nelda Kaye (Alan) Blackwell of Cumberland Furnace, Wanda (Richard) Thurmond of Clarksville, and Doris Ann (Joe) Griffy of Clarksville; grandchildren Terry Greene, Greg Burke, Rickey Thurmond, Rachel Henry, Johnathan Greene, Rebbeca Luffman, Joe Griffy, Zachary Greene, and Evan Greene; and six great-grandchildren. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be David Stavely and Hubert Walker.
