Hughes Head

Hughes Elliott Head, age 79 of Stroudsville, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at his home, where he was born and raised.
A celebration of his life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, with Revs. Jim Clark and Regina Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, with a Masonic service at 8 p.m., and from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the church.
Mr. Head was born May 7, 1932 and was preceded in death by his parents, James Clay and Lucy Elliott Head; and his wife, Ruth Hensley Head. He was a farmer, a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, and a fifty year member of Red River Masonic Lodge #537.
Survivors include his sons, James Ray (Tammy P.) Head, Terry Hughes (Tammy S.) Head, Stroudsville, Keith (Brenda) Head, Nashville; daughters, Sandra (Sid) Jarreau, Joelton, Teresa (Tom) Adkins, Sheila (Mark) Tillman, Stroudsville; seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Head, Marvin Hugh Harris and Grover Stroud.
