Howard Bumpus, 95, Clarksville, went to be with his Lord Jesus Friday, April 3. 2009, at Grace Health Care. The funeral will be held at 10 AM Monday at McReynolds-Nave-Larson with Rev Keith Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Sango Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 AM to time of service Monday.
McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Bumpus was born in Montgomery Co., December 2, 1913, the son of Thomas Purtle and Leona Baggett Bumpus. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children Dorothy James Bumpus; his second wife Alice Marshall Bumpus, and son,Donald Bumpus; two sisters and three brothers. Mr. Bumpus worked over 20 years in automoblie assembly for General Motors and served as a Deacon in several Baptist Churches, being a . He is survived by his wife, Alice Marshall Bumpus; two daughters, Rosie Starnes, Clarksville and Betty Arvey, Saginaw,MI.
