Hooper Gray, age 87, of Clarksville, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Clarksville Nursing & Rehab.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 1 p.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Hooper entered this life on March 29, 1926 in Dickson, TN, son of Robert Viston Gray and Dora Lee Hagewood Gray. As a young man, Hooper bravely served in the U.S. Army and fought in WWII and the Korean War. He later went on to work for Clarksville's water treatment plant from which he retired following a length career. He was also a bus driver for Western Kentucky Stages and a member of the church family at Forest Street United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alva Lee Buckner Gray. Survivors include his loving sons, Roger Gray and wife Brenda and Victor Gray and wife Vickie; grandchildren, Barry and Miranda Gray; great grandchildren, Alyssa Gray and Izaick Swan; sisters, JoAnne Sparks and Rebecca Touro and husband Don; and brother, Richard V. Gray and wife Betty.
