Homer Phillip Hutson Sr., 86, Clarksville, went home to meet his Heavenly father, Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Gateway Medical Center. A private Graveside service will be held at the family cemetery with Dr. Roger Freeman officiating.Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Friday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel. He was born September 17, 1921. Homer was from a large loving family and was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Ben Hutson, and by eleven siblings. He is survived by Willie Hutson, wife of 65 years; brother, Roscoe (Wilma) Hutson, Saxton, KY; sister, Louise Hughes, Nashville; sons, Phil (Elaine) Hutson, Mark (Connie) Hutson; daughter, Sue (Mike) Atkins; grandchildren, Holly (Stacy) Brown, Sam (Tracy) Hutson, Katie and Robin Hutson, Dan and Casey Atkins, and great-grandchildren, Abby, Samantha, Austin, Caleb, Anderson, Camryn and Jamari. Homer loved the Lord, loved his church and missed it very much when he could no longer go, but now he is in the presence of the Lord and he is happy. He was devoted to his family and lived life to the fullest, always with a smile on his face. Both in his service with the military and his career as a barber, there were many that loved him.
