Henry (Hank) L. Endres of Pennsville, NJ and Tennessee
Ridge, TN. passed away on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014
at Signature Healthcare of Erin in Erin, TN.
Hank was born on May 6, 1938 to the late James and
Laura Baker Endres in Swedesboro, NJ. He attended
schools in Salem County, NJ. He served in the Naval Reserves
from 1955-1958 and in the Army from 1958-1961.
Hank worked for the Dupont Chambers Works Chemical
Company in Deepwater NJ from 1962- 1993. He was a 40
year member of Penns Grove Excelsior Masonic Lodge #54
in Penns Grove, NJ.
Hank spent his weekends building and racing cars from
dirt tracks at 17 right up until his retirement from racing Top-
Fuel dragsters in 1989. He won the NHRA Div. 1 Championship
n 1978. He was inducted into the National Nostalgia
Drag Racing Association Legion of Honor in 2012 for his
contributions to the sport. In his later years he was involved
in restoring and showing classic cars.
Hank is survived by Bonnie Endres and daughters,
Justine (Bruce) Hammel of Pueblo, Co, Laura (Ron)
Beveridge of Carneys Point, NJ. Granddaughter, Amanda
Graul of Clarksville, TN, brother, Juliius (Doris) Endres,
Sister, Patti (John) Lafresse of Ft. Pierce, Fl and sister
Sandy Snider of Louisburg, NC.
