Hazel Laxton

Hazel Laxton, age 85, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Houston County Community Hospital. Mrs. Hazel was born March 16, 1929 in Stewart County, TN, daughter of WilliamHillard Barnes and Elsie Mae Wyatt Barnes. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Joe Laxton, and two sons Larry Laxton, Dale Laxton,and Joseph Brandon Henson She was a member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church. A celebration of her life will be held 3pm Tuesday at the Nave Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jay Wilburn officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30pm until 8pm Sunday, 8am until 8pm Monday, and 8am until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Barnes Cemetery. Survivors include three sons; David Laxton, Cary Laxton, and William Laxton, five daughters; Freda Faye Dennis, Nancy Cobb, Karen Henson, Lisa Smith and Melissa Mayes. She also leaves behind Nineteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Barnes, Matthew Barnes, Kennith Barnes, Jason Laxton, Dwayne Ray, Darian Dennis, Jeremy Mahoney, and Jerry Wayne Barnes. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Justin Wade Smith and Jared Nathan Harris.
