Harold Monroe “Sleepy” Selph, age 86 of Erin, TN, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at his residence.
A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Pastors Ray Bradley and Phillip Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
The Selph family will receive friends at Nave Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday afternoon.
Harold entered this life on December 23, 1932 in Dover, TN, son to the late Cecil and Zeffie Selph. Harold was a lifelong resident of Houston County where he raised his cattle, and was a passionate fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by eight siblings.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Mildred Brooks Selph; children, Vicky (Jack) Roberts Von (Teri) Selph, Chris (Sheri) Selph, Jill (Wes) Aymett, and Daron Selph. Harold also leaves behind his grandchildren, Amber Dennis, Justin Selph, Wesley Selph, Alex Aymett, Bradley Selph, Katie Crockarell, Abby Ezzell, and eleven great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Selph, Wesley Selph, Alex Aymett, Bradley Selph, Jerry Tomlinson, and Brenden Selph. Honorary pallbearers will be Wes Aymett, Chase Crockarell, Tim Dennis, and Cole Ezzell.
