H. Douglas Wall known to family and friends as "Doug" went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2024, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee. He was ninety years old. Doug was born to Pete Wall and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Bryant Wall on November 6, 1933.
He met the love of his life, Barbara JoAnn Broadbent Wall, while they were both young students at Woodlawn School. They were happily married for fifty years. Together they had two children: Debra Ann Wall Lindsey (Wayne) and K. Douglas Wall (Vickie); three grandchildren, Ashley Douglas Wall, Candace Lynn Ursery (Michael), and Megan JoAnn Wall; and four great-grandchildren: Benjamin Wall, Alexandra Wall, Lauren Ursery, and Lorelei Cruce. He is also survived by his brothers, Bill Wall, Pete Wall, and Little Pete Wall.
Doug was a successful businessman in Clarksville, Tennessee, founding Clarksville Insurers and later in his retirement years, Valvoline Instant Oil Change. Doug considered his greatest accomplishment in life to be known as "Jo's husband". He loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He was an avid golfer and fisherman; activities which he enjoyed with his son, Doug Jr., and his brothers. After his wife's death, he traveled extensively with his daughter, Deb.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Ashley, and brothers Joe, Rick, and Terry; sisters, Sheila Caruso and Vicki Rosser.
Doug's story is one of love and unwavering commitment to his family. He will be deeply missed, but the seeds he planted in the hearts of those he leaves behind will continue to grow and flourish for generations to come.
