Ruth Wyatt, age 95, of Clarksville, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Dr. Roger Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Sango Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Ruth entered into this life on November 10, 1929, in Montgomery County, TN to the late Carney and Ruby Bowler Baggett. She attended Excell Baptist Church. Ruth worked as an LPN at Clarksville Memorial Hospital and Palmyra Nursing Home. Ruth was happiest surrounded by friends and family, enjoying life’s many flavors, from shrimp to her undeniable favorite—Krispy Kreme glazed donuts.
Ruth had a sharp mind and a competitive streak, which she expressed through her love of Bridge. Evenings often found her relaxing and enjoying episodes of Wheel of Fortune, always solving puzzles before the contestants could.
An adventurous soul, Ruth loved boating and the serenity of being on the water. She found deep friendship and camaraderie at the Clarksville Women’s Club, where she became an integral part of the community, sharing laughs with her dearest friends.
She was an avid reader and read everything Billy Graham and President Jimmy Carter wrote. Her trip to Plains, GA was a highlight where she heard him teach a Sunday School lesson.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, James Irvin Wyatt, Sr; siblings, Carney Baggett, Jr., Helen Sheppard, Stanley Baggett.
Survivors include her children, James I. Wyatt Jr. and wife Melba, Donna Litton and husband, Jay, Robb W. Wyatt and wife Helon; grandchildren, Lucas Wyatt, Steven Litton and wife, Lauren, Hannah Wyatt Hudson and husband, Earle, David Litton and wife Missy, Julie Litton Kirksey and husband Caleb, Wesley Wyatt, Anna Wyatt; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Litton, Callum Litton, Franklin Hudson, Naomi Kirksey, Marian Litton, Tessa Mai Hudson, Caroline Litton, Jane Kirksey; sisters, Betty and husband Robert O’Neal, Sue Page.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Wyatt, Lucas Wyatt, David Litton, Steven Litton, Earle Hudson, Caleb Kirksey, Tommy Page.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Ships and Samaritan’s Purse.
